Dear Tarja:
	You can use DAPI or Hoestch bisbenzimide dyes H33258 that bind to dsDNA
and fluoresces intensely. Several routine assay methods have been
developed over time (e.g. Brunk et al., Anal. Biochem 92:497, 1979; Kim
et al., Anal. Biochem. 174:168, 1988). A query in PubMed should result
in plenty of information. Molecular Probes has new fluorescent probes
for DNA suitable for quantification assays.
