I would recommend the ready to use TRIZOL from Gibco, MRC, .... and  add 8µl
of microcarrier gel TM (Molecular Research, Cincinatti, Ohio) for isolation
of very small amounts of RNA! - Attention: DNA might contaminate your
RNA-isolate, - critical especially in single-tube Tth-RT-PCR!
