Flag vs. myc epitope tags.

I have successfully tagged a transmembrane protein with the FLAG epitope
in an extracellular loop and detected it without too many problems using
the M2 antibody. There are plenty of other examples in the literature. I
think there are other commercially available anti-FLAG antibodies that
do not pick up the epitope unless it is at the end of a polypeptide
chain, but M2 should be fine.
