The ccd chip in the camera is also sensitive to infra red and UV lamps
in transilluminators give out slight infra red as well as UV. You need a
decent narrow bandpass filter in front of your lens. The UV filter on
the transilluminator isn't enough.
The problem with being on the cutting edge is that you occasionally get
sliced from time to time....
