ATA and RT-PCR

I have a great protocol for RNA extraction from plant tissue that
utilizes Aurintricarboxylic Acid (ATA) as an RNAse inhibitor
(Biochemistry 19; 4299). ATA inhibits the formation of
protein-nucleic acid complexes...at least with RNAse.

So my question is, is this a general inhibition of most nucleic
acid-protein complexes or just RNAse? Specifically, will this kill
RT-PCR?

Any insights will be appreciated!
