Hiya,
paranoid is the right state of mind for playing with RNA.
autoclave is the other word to avoid: the best way to contaminate
a RN***-free solution is to stick it in the autoclave. 20 min at
120 C is not enough to kill em

The good thing about RNasin, tho, is that it works agains the
bulk of E. coli RN***s. I've made RNAs from PCR products
amplified directly from E. coli without any cleanup and it worked
OK.

And of course, the best RNase inhibitor is a spoonful of SDS...
