Yeast nuclease inhibitor

I am working with the activity mesurement of S. cerevisiae DNA glycosylase
by Nicking assay. As the nuclease activity is very strong, in yeast crude
the substrate DNA probe become the ladder after the reaction. The EDTA inhibits
this glycosylase activity, and Mg++ is required for this reaction. Does any one
have any recommendations of how to inhibit non-specific nuclease activity?
Thanks for any help,
