Low RNA yield

Hi, I think you'd better check the RNA you got. It is easy to do so by measuring the O.D260 and O.D280, the ratio of 260/280 should above 1.65, according the O.D260, you can calculate the yield of RNA. Also you can do a fast electrophoresis to see if your RNA was degrade or not, it takes five minutes. It is hard to say you get less RNA just because of the low yield of RT-PCR. As you know, there are so many conditions affect PCR results.
I hope these can help you.
Good luck!
