detection virus methods

:Hi netters, I'm looking methods to detect virus in cell cultures devoted to
:production of recombinant products, different of RT test.

Any virus? I don't know any generic methods. Just a thought:

Something that filters through 0.1u, sediments readily in 
ultracentrifuge, and contains nucleic acids. If you have such stuff
in quantities above known virus-free control, then it must be virus.
