seems more like a problem with the race template which generally is good
for 3´race because it is RT-Transkribed with a polyT primer but less good
in the 5´region where the probability for preliminary RT-STop is higher.
Maybe it is  long gene (you need a good, long RT) or the cDNA praparation
is worse than in the other animals (5´ends generally missing or only low
abundand), or both.
