In the same line as the previous question about alternatives to dextran
sulfate in Northern/Southern blots. We recently noted that Dextran
Sulfate is the major cause for background in our in situs with DIG and
fluorescein labeled RNA probes.
We're currently checking whether this may be related to different
batches or manufacturers.
Leaving DexSO4 out almost completely canceled the background.
However, we have a quite notable drop in sensitivity. Thus, does anyone
know an alternative to DexSO4 for in situ ?
Or a good source for "good" DexSO4 ?

Paul
