Maybe your institution has a surplus equipment warehouse.  I have on
several occasions found "free" pumps at such sites , that bought new would
have cost thousands.   The rebuild option is also a good idea.  Maybe your
institution has a pump shop guy who does this..   Traps are definitely
needed or you will wreak the pump.
