Hi Robert,
I don't say that annealing times of 1 sec dont't work. But depending
on your (probably) primers PCR yield will increase with annealing
times up to 10 sec. Not always, but often. A stop-over (0 sec) at
annealing temperature is often enough. If one really wants to go for
the last seconds you should try 0/5 and 10 sec annealing.
