replication of plasmids

I have subcloned a fragment from pUC into a shuttle vector that was also
derived from pUC. the Insert was very similar in size to pUC, so when
extracting it from the gel, I'm sure I also got some contaminating
vector. Some of the minipreps had a suspiciously larger insert than the
one I intended, and some were correct.

My question: can a plasmid containing 2 identical origins replicate,
i.e. could pUC be ligated with itself?
