exactly. If it's pure enough for cell culture, its fine for bacteria.
Maybe the guys should check their Millipore unit for contamination - It
happened in my previous lab, and it really messed up their cell culture.
Another suggestion: Are you sure (although you're using several different
strains) - that the bacteria are still what you think they are? Why not get
another strain from a friendly lab?
