SURE2 cells' transformation efficiency?

Does anyone out there have any experience with Stratagene's
(chemical-)competent SURE2 cells?

Following the (routine) protocol I have gotten poor transformation
efficiency (like 10e2/ug) from two different batches. Do these cells go
bad more quickly than other standard strains?

Alternatively, can someone recommend a strain which can tolerate
large hairpin constructs without deletion?
