You can always try different metals (Co, Zn, Cu, Fe) with NTA,
and you can always try IDA instead of NTA. There are some subtle
variations between behavior of different proteins on metal chelates,
but generally speaking, _no_, there is no "better" method than Ni-NTA
for purification of recombinant proteins based on IMAC.
