Growing bugs for plasmid preps

We, too, have had difficulty in growing bugs in deep well plates.  You might
want to look at the Stanford web site

which talks about their solution -- commercially available from Genemachines.
The key ideas apparently is to produce turbulence in the well, done with
the correctcombination of speed and throw.  I have no first hand experience
with this system, but I think they are being very successful.
