Not sure if this one would get by a safety officer, but isoamyl alcohol removes EtBr very efficiently - q.v. the good old CsCl gradient maxi-prep method. I was doing one of these and spilt the whole lot on my lab coat and t-shirt once - the EtBr came out v. easily and quickly by dabbing on IAA. Had to do the maxi again, though :-( James Hallinan ---
