heterologous protein expression

Hi all,

we try to express a cysteine-rich protein from human cells
in bacteria.
We do not get clones.
1) Is it true that cysteine-containing proteins are toxic to the
bacterial host cells?
2) Do E. coli make cysteine at all?
3) Is there a chance to get bacteria to make our protein?

Thanks,

Markus
