Hi Robert,

A recent Biotechniques article suggested a slightly easier method:  spin
in aerosol-resistant tips.  Cut the tip off a 1 ml aerosol-resistant pipet
tip so that the part with the filter can fit in a 1.5 ml tube.  Put your
gel slice in the top and centrifuge a minute.  One caveat:  don't use
ArtTips since they are water resistant.
