Concerning a bacterial membrane protein
One of the proteins that I work with seems contain both a predictable
signal peptidase I and II cleavage at different sites.
Both type of signal peptides are translocated across the inner membrane
via the SEC apparatus. Can anybody tell me what happens to the protein ?
Which peptidase cleaves this protein ?
Has such prediction been observed for other proteins ?
