That is simply not true. There is a component of the patent covered by
using licensed reagents and another one covered by using a licensed
machine. And that is only for research purposes, for other applications
there are more fees. Bloodsuckers, Chupachabras.

By the way, Hybaid machine is not licensed (you need to purchase the
authorization separately from PE) whereas PE and Eppendorft are
authorized machines.
