direct gfp observation

Nick, 

If you place the bugs diectly on a blue light source, you probably 
won't see anything green (so did I). It's necessary to use a filter 
that totally blocks the exciting light.
However, I recently saw GFP expressing bacteria glowing 
green when illumated with (invisible) ultraviolet light.
