BME / DTT Immunoblot

Anyone who may know,

I had read somewhere recently, and now cannot find it again, that using BME
in SDS-PAGE can cause problems with immunoblotting. I do not know if it was
a problem with the transfer of protein to the membrane, or if it was a
problem with antibody binding, or if it was merely a problem specific with
using second antibody-horseradish peroxidase conjugate. In the same note,
it was recommended that DTT was used as the reducing agent in SDS-PAGE when
immunoblotting was desired. Does anyone know the case in which DTT is
desired over BME for Western Blots? And, what is the reason for this?
