T4 ligase question

Hi all, 

what actually happens, when there's no ATP left in the  
reaction? will ligase start eating up DNA and act as a DNAse 
(considering the ligation reaction being a real chemical 
reaction DNA1 + DNA2 + ATP <=> ligated_DNA + ADP + P) ?
