The Carl Duisberg Society has some money to give away. It
probably is for germans only, but if you should be interested,

Scholarships and Practicals in Asia for young leading
professionals
The Carl Duisberg Gesellschaft e.V. is offering 50
scholarships of the Heinz-Nixdorf-Stiftung (... foundation) for
six month prakticals in Asia.
Recent graduates and young professionals will get the chance
chance to find out more about China, India, Indonesia, Japan,
Malaysia, South Korea, Vietnam and Taiwan.
In addition, there will be funded up to two month of language
training
Purpose of the programme is to "enhance professional
qualification and language skills and furthermore to obtain key
competence like creativity and slef confidence"
Interested people aged 30 or younger with an education in the
field of engineering, business or engineering are encouraged to
apply until the end of september 2001.
