Problems with Taq

Hi!

I've recently been trying to amplify a gene with Taq and Expand High 
Fidelity. It works fine with Expand but for some reason it doesn't with 
Taq. The reaction set up is identical except for the polymerases and the 
buffers.

It is important that I can do this with Taq since I need its low fidelity.

Do you have any suggestions to what might be wrong? I've tried to 
different batches of Taq with the same negative result.
