Well I won't enter the 'how much degradation is too much degradation?'
arguement. But we do use the bioanalyzer at Ambion. We use it more for
looking at levels of rRNA removal during mRNA selection than for
'intactness' of total RNA. We also use it to quantify and characterize
in vitro transcription reactions and aRNA type reactions. It's a
really nice machine.
