Anomalous cell growth on 96 well plates

It depends on your assay, if you are using a spec to collect these data on
cell growth it could quite easily give variable readings, given that the
wells on the outside tend to have variable readings in many plate readers.
It could just be bad voodo, we tend to avouid using the outer row or two in
cell culture and ELISA here either way.
