Resuspension:

Do not dey the DNA pellet completely. Better yet, do not dry at all before
adding the resuspension buffer (TE8) or water. If DNA is good, it goes into
solution very quickly when slightly wet. Following resuspension, speed vac
the solution for a minute to get rid of residual EtOH.

Smear:

You should expect a smear when you digest genomic DNA, with very faint
ladder showing through.
