Activated Charcoal Question

Hi all,

I'm thinking about putting some activated charcoal into my dialysis buffer
when changing buffers for a protein.  We suspect that there may be small MW
compounds bound to the protein that survive purification (ATP for one) and
this is a quick way of ensuring their removal.  Has any one tried this
approach?  What if the buffer contains HEPES and DTT - surely these will
bind to the charcoal and, as a result, remove them from solution?
