extracting and purifieing DNA from honeybee

Hello, 
i´m busy with extracting DNA from honeybee. my problem is, that it seems to
be inpossible to wind up the DNA on a glass-rod  by the classical method
with ethanol.
is there an other possibility to extract dna than by centrifugation. if i
centrifugate the dna I´ve extracted the ratio of E260nm to E280nm is to low
(lower than 1,5).

can anyone give me a hint
