Troubleshooting with the second dimension of 2

when I was doing my PhD I saw a similar effect that resulted from the height
of the buffer in the lower buffer chamber.

I was using a Hoefer Mighty Small V/E system. When I reduced the level of
buffer in the lower chamber so it was just deep enought to cover the bottom
of the gel sandwich, this effect was removed.

What type of second dimension separation/equipment are you using? Is it
vertical or horizontal?
