I should just add that the Aeolian group of islands off Sicily namely 
Vulcano, Lipari, Stromboli amongst others in my opinion are one of the 
best kept Italian secrets as a holiday destination.

Beautiful small islands with great weather, active volcanoes, Roman 
amphitheatre on Lipari etc.

Seriously nice.
