protocol for charcoal stripping serum

I need a protocol for charcoal stripping serum (in order to remove endogenous hormone).  I have found several protocols on the web, widely varying from each other and not offering any citations as to where they came from.  I would appreciate any help in finding a somewhat definitive protocol (or at least starting point) for this.
