Redox State

I remember reading somewhere recently (a research paper) where authors used
the difference in GFP fluorescence under different redox conditions. So, GFP
itself could be your marker, and you could take calibration spectra of it at
different redox conditions. Moreover, you would have to do that anyway as a
control in your experiments, right? I'll try to find that paper for you, but
if not, try do it yourself at Pubmed or elsewhere. I am not sure though what
you mean by redox state of the cell. if you mean glutathione system, then
search google or elsewhere. I did, and here is one link for example
http://www.clontech.com/archive/JAN00UPD/pdf/ApoAlert.pdf .
Hope this helps.

Hi, all...

We're currently doing expression studies with a GFP vector, and are looking
for a marker to demonstrate the redox state of the cell simultaneously, ie,
we want to know the redox state of the cell, as well as being able to look
at the localisation of the GFP hybrid in that same cell. Does anyone know
of any decent kits for this?

Thanks. :)
