If you don't wash with organnis solvent, you will have to supplement your
SDS-PAGE buffer with Tris base to counter the acidity. Easy to do if you
remember that blue=good and yellow=bad.

Alternately, TCA precipitate a small volume of your lysate. In my
experience, insoluble TCA pellets arise from trying to precipitate too much
protein at once.
