human rhinovirus 3C protease (PreScission protease) DNA source?

Dear all

I'm using pGEX-6 vectors for the expression of my proteins.
Now I'm wondering whether it's possible to prepare PreScission
protease (human rhinovirus 3C protease fused to a GST) by myself.

Is this protease currently protected by a patent?
If an academic researcher can prepare the protease, how one can
obtain the DNA coding for 3C protease?
