southern blot radio/ non-radioactive

Can anyone tell e if they have used a non-radioactive S.blot and what methods there are I know there is Dig but how do they compare with the radioactive ones. I plan to do some gene targetting and later need to do lots of screening so need preferrably a non-radio if its good
