You can run it all right, but it will not come off the column again (at
least not under conditions where its activity is maintained). The
interaction with the C18 tail of RPC columns is to strong. 

You can however use columns with shorter tails (phenyl or butyl groups),
this is called hydrophbic interaction chromatography (HIC). There is a
useful Pharmacia booklet on that topic, which you should be able to get
free from your rep.
