DNA sequence/ligation problems

I have a digested insert and vector. Both have an AflII restriction site so i can ligate them together. Ligation seems to work, I transform colonies, and midi-prep the plasmid. Sequencing results show a 24 basepair sequence in between my fusion gene and my target gene. Can anyone help?
