Spike lambda DNA into your genomic DNA digest.

Digest with EcoR I.

If the lambda cuts and the genomic doesn't then there is nothing in the 
prep. stopping the enzyme working.

I would guess that when you do this the lambda won't cut and you will 
have to clean up the genomic a bit more.

I have never worked with plant DNA so can't really recommend what the 
best clean up would be.  Perhaps CTAB?
