My teaching philosophy is to have the students making & pouring their
own gels as part of the practical!
I believe that they should also be making their own buffers - teacher
supplies the recipes (i.e. 375 mM Tris.HCl, pH 8.8, 0.1% SDS) but they
need to have experience practically mauvering in a lab.

that's my 2 cents worth, be it ever so humble

**Subject: Commercial Premade SDS protein gels
**I run a practical for MSc students, and after 9 years am tied
**of making 12% SDS PAGE gels for them!
**Can anyone recommend a UK supplier of premade SDS gels.
**I generally make 12% PAGE (375 mM Tris.HCl, pH 8.8, 0.1% SDS)
**with a 4% stack (125 mM Tris.HCl, pH 6.8, 0.1% SDS).
**The gel tanks we use are the SE 250 which take 10 x 8 cm
**gels, 0.75 mm thick.
**Any advice and comments gratefully received.
