Invitrogen has a cell line database which has useful refs and
protocols in its Support section.
For INS it lists:
1. Source: J Biol Chem 1997 272(3)1929-34
Comments: INS-1 cells were transiently transfected with plasmid DNA
using Lipofectamine.
Scientific Application(s): Transient Transfection
Product Name and Cat No: Lipofectamine Transfection Reagent (18324111)
2. Source: Nucleic Acids Res 2004 32(19):e150-e150
Comments: INS-1 cells were stably transfected with plasmid DNA using
lipofectamine...
Scientific Application(s): Stable Cell Transfection
Product Name and Cat No: Lipofectamine Transfection Reagent (18324111)
I'd consider using the newer Lipofectamine LTX which is less toxic.
