For the DISK-Electrophoresis system of Ornstein (Ann. N. Y. Acad. Sci.
121:2 (1962) 321-351) you can use different buffer systems to meet the
needs of your protein. Jovin has developed some in silico (Ann. N.Y.
Acad. Sci. 209 (1973) 477-496) that meet the conditions for proper
stacking. Alternatively, use the native blue system of Schagger and v.
However, gel filtration (possibly with low angle laser light scattering
detector) and/or analytical ultracentrifugation might be better
techniques here than electrophoresis.
