S-gal

I just prepared a package of premixed S-gal/Agar culture medium to use
for plating Supercompetent cells.  The S-gal looks a lot darker to me
than LB media I used in the past.  Is anyone familiar with S-gal, and
can you tell me what it is supposed to look like when it comes out of
the autoclave?  Mine is a dark reddish-brown color and I am worried
there is something wrong with it.
