In situ hybridization with DNA probe

I am planning to use in situ hybridization to detect gene expression patterns in plant tissue.  Most of the protocols I have found use RNA probes although they acknowledge that using RNA probes is more difficult.  Does anyone have a protocol for using DNA probes with DIG labelling?  Or can anybody point to any publication that describes the technique?
