Retroviral vectors work extremely well for dividing cells. There are
fewer viral proteins that need to be expressed, and typically support
larger inserts. Although MLV vectors are restricted to a total size
of about 8 kb, I've used Steve Hughes' avian retrovirus vectors with
a total size of about 11 kb, of which about 8.5 kb was the insert ......
