It's possible the enzyme isn't soluble in Triton, or that it requires more 
than 0.5%.  Many membrane proteins are insoluble in Triton.  One of the 
ways to prepare cytoskeletal proteins is to remove the Titon-soluble 
proteins, and then study what's left.
